Lifestyle Restaurants & Bars
In 2005, Chevalier entered the Food and Beverage industry by acquiring Pacific Coffee, one of Hong Kong's most recognized coffee retail brands. At the time of acquisition, Pacific Coffee had 39 and 5 outlets in Hong Kong and Singapore respectively. Since then, Chevalier had further grown the Pacific Coffee brand in these markets and had expanded it into Mainland China, Macau, and Malaysia. By 2010, there were over 90 stores across all regions. In June 2010, looking to further expand the brand in the Mainland, Chevalier forged a partnership with China Resources to develop Pacific Coffee under their umbrella. In June 2013, China Resources completed the acquisition by acquiring the remaining stake in Pacific Coffee. At the time, Pacific Coffee has expanded its network to close to 300 stores across all regions with more than 150 in Mainland China.
While expanding the Pacific Coffee business, in January 2007 Chevalier also acquired Igor's Group to widen the concepts under its management. At the time of acquisition, Igor’s was operating 20 restaurants and bars in Hong Kong. In December 2010, after expanding the number of Igor’s outlets to over 30, the Group further expanded its food and beverage business through the merger of Cafe Deco Group with Igor’s Group. The enlarged group had more than 40 restaurants and bars at the time of merger, located across the Asia Pacific region including Hong Kong, Macau and Sydney. The restaurants and bars business, now operating under Cafe Deco Group, offers an exceptional dining experience and a wide range of international cuisine as well as providing stylish meeting venues for drinks and casual dining.
Flagship restaurants currently under the Cafe Deco Group include the iconic Cafe Deco restaurants situated at the Peak and at Hong Kong International Airport, chain restaurant concepts "Dim Sum Bar" and “Berliner” as well as the destination restaurant in Australia, “Cafe Sydney”, located at the heritage Custom House, a restaurant with an unparalleled vantage point overlooking the Sydney Harbour. Moreover, the Group has established solid roots in Macau with “Cafe Deco Macau” located in the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel.
Extending beyond just a retail network, in January 2012, Chevalier, under Cafe Deco Group, set up Food Square, a food processing facility in Chai Wan. Food Square was built to handle processed meats and seafood, ranging from smoked salmon and specialized sausages to tailored portions of steak. In addition to serving the Group’s own restaurants and bars, the clientele of Food Square includes five star hotels, theme parks and restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau.
