Corporate Volunteer Team
Taking the initiative to serve the community, a volunteer team – “Chevalier Cares” was formed in 2011 and has been involved in different voluntary programs. Members of our volunteer team, in cooperation with several local charitable organizations, engages in activities benefitting underprivileged young children and the elderly.
"Chevalier Cares" visited "Tung Wah Group of Hospital Ho Tung Home for the Elderly" in Diamond Hill. Volunteers performed Guzheng, played fun games and group activities with more than 50 elders.
"Chevalier Cares" and "Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association - Cheng Pon Hing Care & Attention Home" co-organized a tour for a group of elderly at age of 80 to 90 to the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens.
"Chevalier Cares" invited around 60 family members from "Against Child Abuse" to have an exclusive lunch at Wildfire. The highlight of the day was the enjoyment of a 3D movie, "Cars 2", in the cinema.
"Chevalier Cares" and the "Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong Sheung Tak Integrated Youth Service Centre" jointly organized a "Visit to Produce Green" activity for primary school students from low income families in Tseung Kwan O. Through this activity, students learnt about the advantages of organic farming in biological conservation and reducing carbon emissions.
"Chevalier Cares" and the "Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong Login Club for New Arrivals" joined hands again in organizing the activity of "Making Easter Eggs with Children". More than 20 kindergarten and primary school students participatied in games with our volunteers and designed beautiful Easter eggs together.
"Chevalier Cares" visited "Wai Ji Christian Service Sheltered Workshop and Hostel at Un Chau" in Cheung Sha Wan. Volunteers played fun games and group activities with members from the hostel, as well as taught them to make cookies.
"Chevalier Cares" and the "Hong Kong PHAB Association" co-organised an activity of "Music Farm Visit" for people with mild mental and physical handicap in Yuen Long. Volunteers assisted and guided the participants to explore their potentials and talents through adventure games.
"Chevalier Cares" set up a charity bazaar at the Chevalier Engineering Service Centre and more than 200 bags of Oxfam Rice were sold. The fund raised was donated to the Oxfam China Development Fund to support its poverty alleviation and emergency relief projects across the mainland.
"Chevalier Cares" joined the volunteering program launched by The Hong Kong Brands & Products Expo in bringing participants form low income families, elderly as well as people with disabilities to visit booths of the Expo and to make purchase with allowance sponsored by the Expo.
